With every new year comes change and call us curious, but these 50 women are all women that we’re interested in keeping an eye on in 2013 for one reason or another. Some of them have big projects coming up. Some are just going to be very busy with numerous interesting projects. Some we’re simply curious to see what it is they’re going to do. And some really need to do something special in 2013 in order to stay on our radar. Whatever the reason may be, these 50 ladies are all women to watch over the next 12 months.

49 Lake Bell
Who doesn’t love Dr. Cat Black on
Childrens Hospital? No one that’s seen her, that’s who. And now the award-winning writer and director (that’s right, she does those things too) will appear in another film that she wrote, directed and starred in called
In a World… in 2013.

48 Genesis Rodriguez
Rodriguez, who earned her acting chops on Telemundo, got men the world over’s attention playing Sarah on
Entourage and then again as Angie in
Man on a Ledge. She followed that up with a role in
What to Expect When You’re Expecting in 2012 and is now going to appear in her biggest film yet, working with Arnold Schwarzenegger in his first leading role since 2003, in
The Last Stand.

46 Jacinda Barrett
Who here remembers seeing Jacinda Barrett on the fourth season of
The Real World? What? She was a hot 22 year-old model at the time. Anyway, she’s since done quite a bit of acting and is set to star alongside Anthony Edwards and Addison Timlin in a new conspiracy theory focused series on ABC called
Zero Hour beginning in February.

45 Berenice Marlohe
What’s next for the latest and greatest Bond Girl? An upcoming film yet to be named directed by Terrence Malick starring Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, and Holly Hunter. Is this an acting school or a movie?

44 Analeigh Tipton
Analeigh has turned her third place finish on
America’s Next Top Model into a nice little acting career appearing in
Crazy, Stupid, Love and scoring a recurring role on HBO’s
Hung. In 2013 she’ll take it to another level with movie roles in three films including
Warm Bodies, a film based loosely on
Romeo and Juliet.

43 Paula Patton
If you saw
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol then you know exactly who Paula Patton is. Which also means that you, like us, are very curious to see what she does next. And the answer to that appears to be starring with Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington in the crime-drama
2 Guns set for release in 2013. (She’s also scheduled to be in another
Mission Impossible, but we’ll have to wait a little longer for that.)

42 Morena Baccarin
Brazilian-born Baccarin cemented her status as an actress on the rise with her portrayal of Jessica Brody on the last two seasons of the Showtime series
Homeland. In 2013 she will add starring in a feature film to her resume in the comedy
Old Days.

41 Katherine Webb
There are hundreds of sports WAGs out there, but the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron is currently one of the most famous. Now she has a couple hundred thousand followers on Twitter (where she was nice enough to
introduce everyone to her younger sister), an
appearance on The Today Show, and an
invite to be in the SI Swimsuit Issue. This should be fun.

40 Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding’s career appears ready to hit new heights in 2013 capitalizing on the success of her album
Halcyon and a tour that continues this year. Her collaboration with her ex-boyfriend, three-time Grammy winner Skrillex, on the song “Summit” could be just the beginning of an interesting year for the British artist.

39 Emma Stone
As if starring in
The Amazing Spider-Man wasn’t enough, now Emma Stone is appearing in the much-anticipated film
Gangster Squad and will be a part of the gigantic ensemble cast for the comedy
Movie 43. Topping that off is a voice role in the DreamWorks animated comedy
The Croods, set to be released in March.

38 Amber Heard
After taking a year off from films and the cancellation of her TV series
The Playboy Club Amber will be back with a vengeance in 2013 as she is lined up to appear in as many as five films including the eagerly anticipated
Syrup and
Machete Kills.

37 Hayden Panettiere
She’s back on TV on a regular basis starring as Juliette Barnes on the new series
Nashville. Perhaps even more interesting is that this role puts her back in a position to
perform as a singer. Will it jump start a successful second career for the 23 year-old?
See more of Hayden here.

36 Jenna Elfman
We first grew attracted to Jenna when she portrayed Dharma Freedom Finkelstein Montgomery back in the late ’90s/early 2000s, but in the 10 years since her appearances on TV and in film have been very sporadic. But now after a recurring role on
Damages in 2012 she’s back as a TV regular and looking as good as ever as she gets set to play the First Lady of the United States in
1600 Penn.

35 Allison Williams
Allison, the daughter of
NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, turned YouTube fame into a role on the HBO series
Girls in 2012 and in 2013 a YouTube Web series she starred in,
College Musical, is becoming a movie with her playing a role in the film.

34 Jessica Lucas
We loved her in
Cloverfield. We loved her on
Melrose Place. We
lovvvvved her in
Friends With Benefits. And in 2013 we’re going to love her in
Evil Dead and then hopefully all year long on a new CW show called
Cult.

33 Jane Levy
For a couple of years now Jane Levy has been killing it on the ABC sitcom
Suburgatory. Now we get to see what she does in a role with slightly less comedy in 2013 as she plays the lead character in the remake of the horror film
Evil Dead. (Back to back
Evil Dead stars! Maybe it’ll be good?)

32 Olivia Thirlby
Everyone has seen
Dredd, right? No? Well, one of the bright spots in the film was Olivia Thirlby as Judge Cassandra Anderson. And 2013 will be another chance for you to see the talent she possesses as she will star in at least three films, two of them as the main character.

31 Nasim Pedrad
With Kristen Wiig and Abby Elliott leaving
Saturday Night Live, Pedrad is now the longest-tenured female cast member on the 38 year-old sketch comedy show. Perhaps she will be the next female comedian to hit it big with a little help from
SNL.
30 Ashley Benson
After three-plus seasons starring on the ABC Family teen drama
Pretty Little Liars Ashley makes the jump to feature films in 2013 starring alongside Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and James Franco in
Spring Breakers, plus a role in the film

29 Aimee Teegarden
Teegarden has struggled to find the right role for her talents since
Friday Night Lights came to an end, but in 2013 she has a couple of interesting projects: the film
Life at These Speeds and the female lead role in a pilot for The CW called
The Selection, expected to be picked up mid-to-late 2013.

28 Nikki Reed
Nikki Reed is just one of the many actors about whom we are curious what will become of them now that the
Twilight series has mercifully come to an end. It won’t take long for us to find out about Nikki though as she is set to appear in up to four films in 2013 including two in which she plays the lead role.

27 Laura Vandervoort
After not seeing much of her the last few years, Vandervoort returned to the big screen with roles in five films in 2012. She’s keeping busy again in 2013 with a part-time role on the SyFy show
Haven as well as parts in as many as three movies.
See more of Laura here.

26 Nina Agdal
Agdal, from Denmark, doesn’t even turn 21 until late March, but she’s already captured the modeling world’s attention having worked for Calzedonia, Fredericks of Hollywood, JCPenney, Maaji Swimwear, Macy’s, Nelly, and Victoria’s Secret PINK, among others. And in 2012 she caught the attention of men the world over winning Rookie of the Year honors in the annual
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

25 Michelle Jenneke
Will 19 year-old Jenneke’s international media attention for her
sexy pre-race warm-up dance be all that we remember her for? Will she become one of Australia’s top female sprinters? Or will she go in completely different direction utilizing her fame to pursue other career avenues? We’re looking forward to finding out in 2013.

24 Jessica Chastain
Perhaps the hardest working actress in Hollywood (she’s acted in 10 films over the last two years), Jessica will slow things down a bit in 2013 as she is only scheduled to act in three films (for now). Of course two of the films are parts one and two of the same story,
The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, so even when she does act in just one story, it’s a two-parter.

23 Elizabeth Olsen
After a breakout performance in
Martha Marcy May Marlene in 2011, 2012 was kind of a quiet year for the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley. She did appear in a couple of films, but with none of the accolades that came a year earlier. She currently has four more films in the works which could be released in 2013 so we’ll see if Lizzie was just a one-hit wonder or if there is more of what grabbed our attention in 2011.

22 Rachel Wray
If Rachel Wray has any kind of success as a MMA fighter in 2013, trust us, the world will know about it. Why? Because she quit her job as a Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader to pursue professional mixed martial arts, that’s why.

21 Anna Kendrick
Anna is another former
Twilight star we’re keeping an eye on in 2013, but Anna has the “advantage” of having not appeared in the last film in the series and has already moved on with success in
What to Expect When You’re Expecting and
Pitch Perfect. Next up,
The Company You Keep with Robert Redford and Shia LaBeouf,
Get a Job with Bryan Cranston, and
Drinking Buddies with Olivia Wilde.

20 Katie Cassidy
Another
Melrose Place alum, Katie will be playing one of the lead roles in The CW series
Arrow in 2013 about the superhero Green Arrow. But she isn’t stopping there as she is also set to appear in up to four films this year including the main character in the film adaptation of
The Scribbler.

19 Meital Dohan
Meital’s debut single, "Yummy," had over 1.85 million YouTube views in just one month in 2012. Then her video for the song “On Ya” with Sean Kingston had over three million views in just a month. Her debut album
I’m in Hate with Love is due out any day now and we’re guessing it will popular. Oh yes, she’s also an actress (you may have caught her a few times on
Weeds).
See more of Meital here.

18 Saoirse Ronan
Ronan, 18, who has been nominated for numerous acting awards since she was just 13 years-old, will appear at least two movies in 2013, starring in
The Host as well as the British film
How I Live Now.

17 Zoe Kravitz
We’ve been waiting patiently for Zoe to return to the big screen since we saw her in
X-Men: First Class and in 2013 she returns in a big way with roles in two films including one on every guy’s must-see list,
Mad Max: Fury Road.

16 Megan Fox
The simple reason we say that Megan Fox is a woman to watch in 2013 is well, she’s Megan Fox. Plus we want to see if she really has any type of career after having her baby, because prior to that she didn’t have much of one going. Unfortunately, as of this writing, there doesn’t appear to be any film roles on her plate this year. We’ll see…
See more of Megan here.

15 Gemma Arterton
If
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters is more successful than films that sound all-too-similar:
Snow White and The Huntsman and
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, this could be the year that the former Bond Girl sticks as a box office draw. If not, she’s always got the film
Runner, Runner with Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck to fall back on, also set for release in 2013.

14 AnnaSophia Robb
19 year-old AnnaSophia has been starring movies since she was 12 years-old beginning with
Because of Winn-Dixie. Kids everywhere know who she is thanks to roles in that film,
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,
Bridge to Terabithia,
Race to Witch Mountain, and
Soul Surfer, but in 2013 AnnaSophia will appeal to a slightly older audience playing Carrie Bradshaw in the
Sex and the City prequel
The Carrie Diaries set to air on The CW.

13 Naomie Harris
After getting our attention as Calypso in the second and third
Pirates of the Caribbean films, Naomie Harris reinforced that she is a star on the rise playing Eve Moneypenny in the James Bond film,
Skyfall. 2013 will see her take another jump in status as she is set to portray Winnie Mandela in
Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom also starring Idris Elba as Nelson.

12 Olivia Wilde
For one thing she’s dating actor Jason Sudeikis, so we want to see how that all works out. On a professional level, however, we’re curious to see how her full-on plunge into the movie-making business works out as she is set to appear in as many as six films in 2013. Yes, six.
See more of Olivia here.

11 Emmy Rossum
For the last two years Emmy has settled in and found a home on the popular Showtime series
Shameless, a role she will continue to play in 2013. But she’s also turned that success into three upcoming film roles including three starring roles with the first,
Beautiful Creatures, set for a February release.
See more of Emma here.

10 Jennifer Lawrence
So what in the world could Jennifer Lawrence possibly do to top 2012? That’s what we’re eager to find out. The woman who
Rolling Stone has called “the most talented young actress in America” is already at work filming
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which is set to be released in November, but prior to that we’ll get to catch her in
Serena with Bradley Cooper. (Yes,
again.)
See more of Jennifer here.

9 Lily Collins
Phil Collins’ actress daughter shined in her first lead role in the film
Mirror Mirror in 2012 and she’ll once again be playing the main character in a movie in 2013 in
The English Teacher. Lily will also appear as one of the main characters in
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, scheduled for a late summer release.
8 Selena Gomez
Having finally ended her Disney series
Wizards of Waverly Place Gomez is set to head full-on into more adult roles in 2013 starring in up to five films including the risque
Spring Breakers. We’re also curious to see if there are any post-Bieber issues she will have to deal with. How she’s surviving this well so far is a mystery.
See more of Selena here.

7 Yael Cohen
If you don’t know who Yael Cohen is by now, we’re guessing by the end of 2013 you will be very aware of her. Cohen, the founder of the organization Fuck Cancer, which is targeted the Gen Y, has been named to lists such as “100 Most Creative People in Business” and “12 People Who are Transforming Philanthropy” for using social media to build an online community sharing health education and support like never before.

6 Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter didn’t exactly turn out as we had hoped, but it was a lesser-known film that finally put Mary Elizabeth on the map as a superb actress and garnering her numerous award nominations:
Smashed. With that finally under her belt, she is set to appear in up to four films in 2013 including guy fave
A Good Day to Die Hard.

5 Chloe Moretz
15 year-old Chloe Moretz is the girl most of you know as Hit Girl from
Kick-Ass, a role she will reprise this year in
Kick-Ass 2. However, she will arguably play a much more interesting role in 2013 as Carrie White in the remake of the Stephen King classic horror film,
Carrie. Quite impressive since the role was originally played by Sissy Spacek when Spacek was 27.

4 Barbara Palvin
Just 19 years-old, Palvin from Budapest, Hungary, jumped on to the radar of everyone with an interest in models after she started working regularly for Victoria’s Secret last year. She’s also already worked for Prada, Armani Exchange, H&M, L’Oreal Paris, and Chanel and she doesn’t even turn 20 until October of this year.
See more of Barbara here.

3 Ashley Greene
This is the
Twilight star we’re most curious about. Will Alice Cullen be what defines her career or is there more to come? She got off to a bad start in 2012 with
LOL, and
Pan Am didn’t exactly pan out (sorry), but a supporting role in the upcoming film
CBGB, about the New York City punk-rock scene, and a starring role in
Random look like they have the potential to put “Alice” in the rear view mirror.
See more of Ashley here.

2 Rooney Mara
We’ve been waiting since 2011 for
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star to appear in another film. Well, wait no more as Rooney is scheduled to act in as many as four films in 2013 including
Her with Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams.

1 Ronda Rousey
Rousey, the first and current UFC Women’s Champion, has taken over where Gina Carano left off in becoming the face of women’s MMA. Rousey, however, has taken it one step further as she will become the first UFC pay-per-view headliner when she faces Liz Carmouche at UFC 157 on February 23. The results of this bout and sales of the PPV will go a long way towards determining both the future of the women fighting in the UFC as well as in mixed martial arts in general.
