The Beer Flavor Wheel: How to accurately describe beer Jan 28th 2013, 20:00 We talk about beer frequently at Guyism, and we do our best to be descriptive but not overly nuanced. Now that we have a flavor wheel though, things may start getting weird. Since Guyism began it’s regular coverage of alcohol two years ago, I’ve attempted to describe different beers without over-complicating things. I’ve found that most people don’t care about a hint of this and a whisper of that, which is good because I don’t have the world’s most preeminent palate. Just because we don’t though, doesn’t mean it can’t be done. This flavor wheel includes just about every commonly accepted description for the flavors and aromas associated with beer.
