The injury, suffered during Monday Night Football appeared to be in the shoulder but further examination revealed a more serious endangerment of his aorta. #Roethlisberger‘s rib is partially dislocated and of more concern than the shoulder. Don’t look for him to play in awhile. #Steelers — Ed Bouchette (@EdBouchette) November 14, 2012 According to CBS Sports, the injury is so rare it had not been seen since 1989 from a rugby player. It’s caused Roethlisberger great pain and some sleepless nights already. Hopefully, some much needed rest and time off will mend his situation. In the meantime, the Steelers turn to Byron Leftwich for the playoff push. With two games in three weeks against division leader Baltimore, this could not have come at a worst time.
