It’s officially the Christmas shopping season, exemplified by grown men trying to discover if they really can buy literally anything off the Internet. You can’t, I’ve tried. But you can download an app that makes life easier when buying stuff for your relatives: Google Shopper.
Google
Google Shopper is as simple as searching for an item in the app. You can also use your phone’s camera to scan barcodes or identify a movie, book, or game by its cover art. It also supports voice search.
Especially useful is the Sales page. This tracks what’s on sale locally, so if there’s something on your list, you can grab it for a lower price.
I put the app through its paces this week, and actually found it to be incredibly effective, if spotty depending on where you are. The big problem really is that you may not have connectivity in a store, so that renders the app pretty much completely useless. But it’s informative and can take anything you throw at it.
In short, it’ll get you the hell out of the store that much faster, and isn’t that what’s really important?
