According to HBO, the stand-up special will be filmed at one of the stops in his 16-city February tour.
"I'm delighted to welcome the gifted Louis CK back to HBO," HBO president Michael Lombardo said in the press release. "This comic genius remains one of the freshest voices on the scene, and HBO is proud to provide an uncensored forum for his provocative humor."
The special will be Louis CK’s second on HBO. He’s also filmed one for Showtime, one for movie theatres that was distributed on Starz, and one that he self-distributed last year.
Louis CK recently announced that his FX hit Louie will be off the air in 2013 with a Spring 2014 slot to return in order to give himself “a little breathing room.”
