This story’s a bit odd yet made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. WWE tag team champion Daniel Bryan allowed a 7-year-old with brain cancer to put him in a submission hold. I know, sounds weird right? But this was Connor Michalek’s dream and when it comes to fulfilling kids’ dreams, nobody does it better than the guys in the WWE (see John Cena).
The Shaler Township boy was diagnosed with cancer of the brain and spine when he was just 3-years-old. He's had multiple surgeries and several rounds of chemotherapy.
Word of Conner's desire to meet the WWE star spread like wildfire on social media and local radio stations. And on Tuesday, Conner's wish to meet Bryan and put him in his signature "no lock" position came true.
"It kinda brings a tear to my eye to know somebody like Connor wants to meet somebody like me, so that's kinda cool," said Bryan.
Doctors gave Connor a less than one percent chance of survival. But you wouldn't know it by his infectious personality.
