Yes, that does indeed qualify as a big ass spider. Nice work there. I have a soft spot for low-budget monster movies, and even though the special effects in indie Big Ass Spider look like something you’d see in a SyFy original movie, I’ll probably still see it just because it’s called Big Ass Spider. Directed by Matt Mendez, the flick’s about the titular arachnid who grows to massive size and menaces a city, spitting webs and melting faces on the way. Seriously, if you make a movie about a giant spider attacking a volleyball game, you have my ticket money. Big Ass Spider premieres at SXSW this year.
